Established in 2014 by renowned hospitality figures Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, the creators of Le Caprice and The Wolseley, The Beaumont has consistently emphasized culinary and beverage excellence. In developing the premise, King envisioned a tale centered on the fictional hotelier James Beaumont, who, according to the novel, fled prohibition in 1920s Manhattan to establish a guesthouse in Mayfair.

This secretive, insider atmosphere permeates the hotel. The renowned bar Le Magritte offers exceptional martinis and American-inspired appetizers such as sliders, oysters, and lobster rolls. For years, The Beaumont housed The Colony Grill, an elegant diner celebrated for its vintage glamour ambiance. CEO Stuart Proctor determined it was time for a transformation and this year aimed to replace the masculine ambiance of The Colony Grill with a more feminine atmosphere.

The outcome is Rosi: a dining room adorned in pastel tones, named in honor of Rosemary Saïd, spouse of Wafic Saïd, the proprietor of The Beaumont. The room has been transformed from a dark color scheme and somber murals to pink and green banquettes accompanied by lively artworks by Luke Edward Hall. It possesses a whimsical, alluring ambiance—this is the type of venue where one might effortlessly spend hours, indulging in libations on a romantic evening (there is a comprehensive array of wine, champagne, and cocktails to explore).

The cuisine, however, is not suitable for Instagram content. Rosi's culinary offerings are unparalleled, particularly given that one of the UK's premier chefs, Lisa Goodwin-Allen, oversees the kitchen. Goodwin-Allen possesses extensive expertise, having dedicated the last twenty years to steering Lancashire hotel Northcote to critical acclaim while maintaining its longstanding Michelin star.

She is currently applying her culinary expertise in Mayfair, having assumed the role of culinary director at The Beaumont this spring, collaborating with chefs Brendan Fyldes (L’Escargot) and Jozef Rogulski (The Game Bird at The Stafford London) at Rosi.

“I am excited to inaugurate Rosi,” states Goodwin-Allen, characterizing it as “replete with delectable dishes in an ambiance that is genuinely welcoming.” She is correct. On opening night, an atmosphere of excitement permeates the restaurant, which exudes warmth and sociability rather than formality and rigidity.

The cuisine features sophisticated interpretations of comfort food staples, enhanced by opulent elements such as caviar, oysters, and quality steak, befitting its five-star Mayfair status. As you peruse the menu, indulge in nostalgic crispy hash browns and little chipolata sausages, preceding starters such as the ample Old-Fashioned Pork Pie, presented on a cart and carved before your eyes – destined to be a signature dish. Those inclined towards theatrical dining will appreciate the steak tartare, crafted at the table with your selection of accompaniments. Do not underestimate the gin-cured melon with serrano ham, an unexpected highlight that serves as an ideal light appetizer if you intend to follow with a heavier dish.

We recommend the chicken diane for the main event, a very favored dish on the first day, characterized by its richness and juiciness, accompanied by a medley of wild mushrooms, and well coupled with thick chips. Alternatively, embrace your youthful spirit with the John Dory fish fingers, seek a companion to share the remarkable salt-aged duck, or indulge in the classic lamb suet pudding.

The dessert menu maintains a nostalgic ambiance, showcasing delectable options such as customizable sundaes, a millionaire salted caramel tart adorned with edible gold leaf, and a seasonal sponge cake, flambéed as expected.

“Rosi embodies all that we cherish in British cuisine: seasonal ingredients, classic dishes, and authentic hospitality,” states Proctor. “Under Lisa's leadership, with Brendan and Jozef alongside her, we are infusing The Beaumont with a revitalized energy and reinterpreting the dining experience in Mayfair.”

Rosi will undoubtedly be popular among hotel guests. With its stylish look, lively atmosphere, and exceptional culinary offerings, this launch is poised to rapidly establish itself as a destination restaurant.
