The wine’s label draws inspiration from Snoop and Tupac’s appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, capturing a defining cultural moment.

The release commemorates the 30th anniversary of the duo's 1996 hit of the same title, which featured a Scarface-referencing music video in which a wounded Shakur threatens actors portraying Diddy and the Notorious B.I.G. Shot during the zenith of the East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry, it is the sole music video in which Snoop and Tupac appeared together while under contract with Death Row Records. Created in collaboration with Treasury Wine Estates and the Tupac Estate, the new Cali by Snoop blend serves as a liquid homage to a distinctive era in West Coast hip-hop history. Snoop stated, "It is difficult to fathom that 30 years have elapsed since Pac and I united." “No one matched our excellence, and I cannot conceive of a more fitting tribute to his legacy than with a beverage.”
The bottle launch is accompanied by a little film showcasing Snoop reflecting on vintage footage from the original music video. Snoop remarks to his deceased friend, "Tupac—it has been 30 years since we released '2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.'" “Upon reflection, I occasionally dismiss all the theatrics, the court proceedings, the legal cases, and the conflicts both on and off the record.” However, all of that contributed to the legends we were.
The wine is an economical mix predominantly composed of Petite Sirah, noted for its flavours of black fruit, toasted oak, toffee, and baking spice. The label draws inspiration from the duo's collaborative presence at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards and has a special written homage from Snoop to Tupac. Initiated in 2020, Cali by Snoop has introduced other varietals, such as Cali Rosé, Cali Gold, and a collectible Cali Red featuring an augmented reality label that activated pre-recorded "Snoopadelic phrases."
Snoop's budget-friendly wine business is only one of numerous commercial partnerships that the "Drop It Like It's Hot" artist has in his revenue sources. The Los Angeles Times reported that the esteemed rapper and entrepreneur had accumulated over 70 endorsement agreements, brand collaborations, and commercial endeavours over his career. These encompass Still G.I.N. by Dre and Snoop, gin produced in association with Dr. Dre, Death Row Cannabis, sneaker lines with Skechers and a fire pit partnership with Solo Stove. The wine "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" is currently available at prominent national retailers, such as Kroger and Total Wine & More, priced at $14.99.
