F1 Star Charles Leclerc Teams Up With Chivas Regal for a Bespoke 16-Year Whisky

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has co-created a unique 16-year-old blend with Chivas Regal, having personally overseen every stage of production from cask selection in Scotland to the final bottling.

Chivas Regal is officially broadening its presence in sports and culture with the introduction of a new limited-edition release, collaboratively developed with F1 champion Charles Leclerc. Announced in Miami before to the Grand Prix, the release signifies the inaugural 16-year-old expression directly associated with the Ferrari driver, and more significantly, the first instance in which Leclerc has assumed the role of co-creator rather than merely ambassador. The outcome represents the brand's deliberate foray into the sport, centered on the number that has accompanied the driver throughout his career.
The project commenced with a challenge. Leclerc urged Chivas Regal’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, to innovate, initiating a dialogue that influenced the ultimate mix. What landed is a blend of 16 whiskies, each aged for at least 16 years, centered on the robust, sherry cask-matured profile of Longmorn. Leclerc's engagement extended beyond superficial involvement as he journeyed to Scotland, examined several profiles, and ultimately contributed to shaping the whisky's trajectory.

Now available nationwide for $69.99 USD, the release features a flavor profile that is rich, warm, and complex, transitioning from citrus and honey to toasted oak and spice. Beyond the liquid, the drop signifies a premium spirits campaign that fully incorporates a star of Charles Leclerc's stature, ensuring his active involvement in both the promotion and product development.
