The creators of Frenchette, Le Rock, and Le Veau d’Or, Hanson and Nasr, have launched a new establishment that provides an art-house supper club ambiance, featuring sophisticated cocktails, organic wines, and a modern menu that enhances the theater's offerings of cinema, music, and live performances.
A24
Located in the refurbished Off-Broadway theatre, the design of Wild Cherry aptly complements A24’s hallmark subdued aesthetic, merging nostalgia with understated elegance. Designed by Zeb Stewart, the 45-seat dining area showcases deep green banquettes, limewashed walls, and a slatted ceiling that produces a subdued illumination. Chequerboard flooring and carnival-style lamps reference vintage diners, while a prominent 12-seat horseshoe bar serves as the focal point, promoting sociability. The outcome is a stratified atmosphere that is simultaneously cinematic and intimate, reflecting the theatre's heritage while providing a novel, modern context.
The meal is thoughtfully curated, harmonising fresh delicacy with robust classics. Patrons may commence with oysters, tuna crudo, or full dressed crab, subsequently progressing to offerings such as a lobster club, roasted monkfish kebab, or a cheeseburger presented with assured elegance. Substantial dishes feature a steak for two, accompanied by a baked potato, green salad, and a swirl of soft-serve, while desserts such as coconut cake offer a delicate conclusion. Beverages encompass traditional cocktails and organic wines, with the notable Scorpion Bowl, presented in antique Murano glass, providing a dramatic touch.
