1. The Riverside Hangout: Brasserie Constance, Fulham

Chef Adam Byatt honed his skills in premier establishments such as Claridge’s and The Berkeley before relocating to establish Trinity, a modest neighborhood restaurant that achieved significant critical acclaim. In his latest endeavor, he has shifted westward, inaugurating a riverside establishment named Brasserie Constance on the first floor of the new Fulham Riverside complex. It will exhibit Byatt’s distinctive culinary style: contemporary British cuisine with French influences, aimed at highlighting the finest seasonal ingredients. Patrons may anticipate appetizers such as potted duck accompanied by rosehip jam and smoked salmon presented from a trolley, followed by communal courses including clay pot chicken with barley, crusted rack of lamb, and traditional comfort food delicacies like pie and mash and toad in the hole. Embrace the most popular beverage trend of 2025 by selecting a variety of miniature cocktails, including bite-sized martinis, negronis, and gin and tonics; alternatively, visit the adjacent bar Flo for a curated wine selection by sommelier Jack, the son of Byatt.

2. The Rooftop: Shanghai Me, Mayfair

The Galvin Brothers’ rooftop restaurant at the London Hilton on Park Lane ceased operations in April after an amazing 18-year tenure. This July, the venue will be occupied by an exhilarating new opening from the renowned Dubai establishment, Shanghai Me. The establishment offers panoramic views of London, making it a worthwhile destination solely for the scenery; however, patrons will also enjoy exceptional Pan-Asian cuisine in opulent surroundings reminiscent of 1930s Shanghai. The London branch's signature dishes are yellowtail carpaccio with black truffle, Cantonese-style roast duck, spicy bluefin tuna, and braised beef short rib. The Bund bar will offer drinks inspired by the Chinese zodiac, such as the Monkey, which combines banana, cocoa, Cachaça, and blue foam, alongside foods like sushi, sashimi, and roast duck with foie gras and caviar.

3. The Renowned Pizzeria: ACE Pizza, Victoria Park

All pizza enthusiasts in London are familiar with Rachel Jones, the architect of ACE Pizza. In 2018, she commenced serving slices during a stint at The Pembury Tavern in Hackney, rapidly attracting patrons from far locations eager to sample her offerings. ACE is establishing a physical restaurant in Victoria Park. What is the cause of all the commotion? ACE has been characterized as ‘London-style’ pizza, combining the chewiness of Neapolitan dough with the foldability of a New York slice, with dough that is slow-fermented for 48 hours to attain a delectably crispy crust. The venue will have nostalgic décor evocative of yesteryear ice cream parlours, complete with booth seating and wooden paneling.

4. The Renovated Victorian Public House: Elephant Hackney, Clapton

The Elephant’s Head has been one of Clapton’s most historic pubs for almost a century, but in July it is embarking on a new chapter. Stevie Thomas, proprietor of Rum Kitchen, and former Manteca chef Francesco Sarvonio have led a renovation, converting the venue into the Italian restaurant Elephant Hackney. Sarvonio, a native of Naples, utilizes his cultural background to curate a menu featuring Neapolitan pizzas, as well as offerings such as ox cheek croquettes, grilled squid, mozzarella with tomato carpaccio, and seafood pasta. Crowd-pleasing cocktails will feature spicy margaritas and espresso martinis, complemented by beers such as a bespoke ELEPHANT WALK Grolsch and selections from the local brewpub Five Points. It appears it will be a visual and culinary delight. David Shrigley images adorn the walls with classic Italian posters, with a 25-year-old skylight salvaged from a derelict East End cinema positioned at the center.

43 Lower Clapton Road, E5 0NS
