A limited edition launch that rapidly sold out.

Volkswagen of America has introduced a segment of its German legacy to the United States with the restricted launch of their renowned VW Gewürz Ketchup Brand. The condiment, renowned for enhancing the cherished VW currywurst, was made accessible via Volkswagen’s DriverGear goods web but was swiftly acquired by enthusiastic enthusiasts.
Volkswagen has been manufacturing this ketchup since 1996, originally pairing it with its currywurst sausage, first developed in 1973 for employees at its Wolfsburg facility. The ketchup is recognized for its distinctive flavor character, tailored specifically for the bite-sized sausage entrée. While typically linked to the automobile industry, Volkswagen's food products enjoy a loyal fanbase, especially among those who have visited the brand's international headquarters.

The U.S. debut of the ketchup coincides with Volkswagen's 75th anniversary celebrations, which feature narratives of devoted enthusiasts such as Jamie Orr, who has been transporting bottles of the condiment back to the U.S. for years. Fans who were unable to purchase the limited edition will have another opportunity to sample the ketchup at ChainFEST in Los Angeles on October 5, 2024.
