Ami Paris is entering the hotel sector with its latest initiative. Café Ami has established its café in Beijing, China, within the premium shopping mall Taikoo Li Sanlitun.

This weekend, Café Ami will formally open to the public as part of the store's renovated and relocated premises. The café adopts the hallmark Haussmannian architectural style, replicating a quintessential Parisian café façade and using the distinctive ornate moldings that enhance Ami Paris' characteristic black-and-white striped awnings. Rattan seats are coupled with bistro tables to evoke the quintessential Parisian ambiance. The café will provide seasonal mocktails and desserts in addition to caffeinated beverages.

Café Ami occupies a 1,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of the mall complex and will also function as an Ami-branded retail outlet showcasing a variety of menswear, womenswear, and accessories. A permanent location follows Ami Paris's pop-up café, which was established last year in Beijing's Taikoo Li Sanlitun, as well as in Shanghai and Chengdu. Nicolas Sant-Weil, CEO of Ami Paris, stated, “By offering something enjoyable, appealing, unpretentious, yet highly refined, we aim to establish a connection between France and China.” This project is intriguing as we have transitioned from the affluent, frigid North District to the warmer South District, characterized by increased traffic and a younger demographic.

Ami Paris' pop-up café is scheduled to debut in Bangkok, Los Angeles, and Tokyo next. The cafés will offer Ami Paris merchandise, including mugs and tote bags. Santi-Weil states of the permanent café site in Beijing, “We aim to honor Beijing Sanlitun as it is our inaugural partner in mainland China.” It is a significant investment on our part, hence we aim to ensure its perfection before further with development. The café commences operations on September 29.
