Video game publisher Square Enix has officially announced the launch of its licensed Cafe & Shop locations in Los Angeles, California, and Shinjuku, Tokyo, scheduled for Spring 2026. This strategic implementation emphasizes permanent, full-service dining and retail spaces, transitioning from the brand's former pop-up concepts to create established cultural centers in two of its most prominent global locations.

The logistics of the North American launch center are situated in a prime position at 316 E 1st St. in the Little Tokyo section of Los Angeles. The facility, formerly occupied by Mitsuru Sushi & Grill, is designed to offer a dual-purpose experience: a specialized café featuring a rotating menu inspired by prominent Square Enix intellectual properties, alongside an adjacent retail area for premium merchandise. Square Enix has collaborated with third-party operator J-Pop Culture Cafe Inc. to oversee daily operations and retail logistics in the U.S.

The Shinjuku anchor concurrently signifies a vertical extension within the PASELABO TOWER at 3-36-1 Shinjuku. The Tokyo flagship, managed by NEWTON CORPORATION, occupies the 1F, 2F, and 3F levels. This multi-level architecture facilitates a more extensive incorporation of themed immersive decor and an increased assortment of official Square Enix items. The Los Angeles and Shinjuku locations employ a structural design that combines high-traffic dining with direct retail access, allowing fans to interact with the brand's intellectual property through both consumption and tangible artifacts.
