Since its inception in 2013 on the pristine beaches of Cowell Bay, The Hut has evolved from a modest beach bar into one of Britain’s most cherished destination restaurants. Famed for its vibrant cabins, picturesque vistas, and animated ambiance, the establishment is reachable by boat from Lymington—unless you are among the island's sailors, who dock in the harbour before boarding one of the restaurant's tenders.

Executive chef Lucian Romocea and his crew prepare a cuisine centred on fresh seafood, featuring small plates such as fritto misto, fish tacos, and braised octopus, followed by main courses like monkfish laksa, grilled lobster, and surf ‘n’ turf. The iconic Big Fish entrée remains a highlight, allowing diners to request a locally sourced catch of the day, which is filleted at their table. Additionally, there are steaks, burgers, and salads.

The establishment offers an extensive array of wine, champagne and cocktails, complemented with an upstairs bar area where patrons can extend their enjoyment post-meal. The Hut is famous for its lively atmosphere, with energetic young waitstaff, abundant dancing, and serviette twirling.

The restaurant is optimal on a sunny afternoon; however, the decks feature a retractable roof for inclement weather, however some tables remain exposed to the elements. This is The Hut's sole UK location; but, in 2024, the proprietors, brothers George and Matt Adams, inaugurated a sibling establishment in Antigua named Little Jumby.

The Hut resumed operations on Saturday, March 14, 2026. This location is highly sought after, so ensure you secure your reservation early for the summer season. If the desired date is unavailable, a waitlist is in operation for all busy weekends and peak summer days. The restaurant's annual celebration will occur on May 27 and 28 this year, commemorating the venue's 10th anniversary with DJs, live performances, and an abundance of beverages.
